After traveling almost 1000 miles from the other side of the Mother Earth, my babies are finally here!!! I've been waiting for my newest gadgets to arrive since i bought them February this year and I can't get over the fact that they are actually right here in my loving arms! Haha! Hello, Sidekick II and Sony Cybershot W130. I am your new master, serve me well. =) Sobrang tagal na nito at sobrang kaba ang inabot ko sa mga ito. A few of my friends prolly know how worried I was during the whole shipping thing from sellers to my cousin, then from my cousin to my friend. Grabe. Huminto ang mundo. Hay salamat. Makakahinga na rin ako sa wakas! Sidekick II! At first, I was more excited to get the fone more than the camera. Why? Una, walang Sidekick sa Pilipinas so I was so thrilled to spot a reliable seller in the US selling it for, well, a relatively cheap price. Second, I love the swivel screen! I thought kasi slide sya then I found out swivel pala. Ang cool cool kaya. Sobra.
Actually, it's an old Sidekick model. Thing is, this and the Sidekick 2008 are the only tri-band Sidekick phones, which means sila lang ang pwede sa Pilipinas. The unlocked Sidekick 2008 retails at around USD300 (or more!) so sobrang mahal na yun para sa dukhang katulad ko. I got my unlocked Sidekick II for, believe it or not, less than USD100. LESS THAN 100, DUDE. Less than 100. It's not even dumb luck. It's retarded luck!! So anyway, I bought it off from a seller in New York and the had it shipped to my cousin in Stockton, California. From my cousin, it was sent to my friend Joey in East Bay in California. And then finally, Joey brought it home to Manila. I actually didn't know at first if Joey got the package because she wasn't replying to my mails so sobrang panic mode ako the whole 3 weeks. I was even forced to create a Myspace account just to contact her. Thank God her sister Sam replied to my Facebook message! I met Joey during lunch to get the items and I almost cried when she gave them to me. After traveling 9552 miles (from NY to Stockton, from Stockton to Antioch, from Antioch to Manila), it's finally here! I went staight to Ate Pea's house in Manila kasi I had to wait for Mom there and I quickly checked out the phone. You should've seen the smile on my face when I got hold of my Sidekick. Pati si Joaqui naki usyoso! Hahaha! Nonetheless, my Sidekick still rocks! No one has texted or called me up on my Sidekick so I can't really tell kung ano ang experience using it. Plus, I have tons of numbers to transfer pa, it'll prolly take days to finish setting up the phone. So we'll see how this goes. Medyo na-tatanga pa ako eh. Trial period is on =) Cybershot! When I opened my W130 Cybershot, grabe, nakalimutan ko and disappointment ko sa Sidekick! I got even more excited sa cam! Hay salamat. May kapalit na ang Olympus ko na 42 years old na yata. *whew* Of course my Olympus will always have a special place in my heart (naks!) kasi we've been through a lot already: WOW Philippines adevntures, my Visayan sojourn, Davao escapade, Chem Congresses, international Chem conferences, Melbourne and Sydney trip, World Youth Day!!, DWTL Annivs, burdays, gatherings, wasted gimik nights, sleepovers, and lotsa crazy lab moments. But I guess all good things must meet their end. 4 megapixels is so not cool anymore. It's time to move on na talaga (though the W130 model isn't exactly new). Well, the W130 was also a bargain. I got it for less than USD140 kaya sobrang good deal na. I wanted a better version of the W series but the most updated version na may rose pink na color ay yung W130 lang. It travelled from Tennessee to Stockton to East Bay to Manila, 8940 miles in total. Grabe, if only my gadgets are Mabuhay milers I'm sure may round trip ticket for two na ako to a domestic destination! I've always wanted a Sony cam and I dunno why Dad got me an Olympus. Kala nya yata microscope ang gusto ko. Hahaha! Pero finally. Salamat naman. *insert big big smile here* Im so looking forward to my summer trips with my friends (though walang plano, I'm sure magakakron yan! Barx! Shnoitz! Dazers! Tara na!!!) and my Manalangsang family (eto definitely matutuloy kahit bumabagyo pa!) para mabinyagan na ang camera! Actually, Joaqui, Dom and I already used it kagad. Si Joaqui kasi excited eh. Mana sa ninang at sa nanay! Hahaha! Haaay. I <3 you, Cybershot. Here's to more years of togetherness and adventures! posted by Dorxie at 11:54 PM

"I never thought of myself as an underachiever, but that's what I am right now." -from a YM conversation I had with Lia couple of days ago I took some time to think where I'm headed: what my goals are, when do I plan to achieve them, and how am I going to get there. Where I am now is definitely not part of the plan I made in 2005. It breaks my heart that 4 years have quickly passed and not much have changed. While people I know are getting either promoted at work or married, I am still the person I was almost four years ago and that sucks for someone like me who have made big plans out of life. I would often secretly blame myself for staying in the rut. For some time it felt endless, until I started realizing how much I have been blessed these past years even without getting the MS diploma yet. I would come to an MS hiatus from time to time probably because I wanted to do so much in life. Boards in 2005, shifted from Biochem to Sensors, PCASTRD scholarship, Chem Congresses, out of town trips, WYD experience, stronger relationship with the people around me, getting to know myself more... The last 4 years may have been rough on my studies, but I could tell you that my most meaningful life experiences happened in those hard 4 years. The long journey has definitely brought me to maturity. Getting the MS degree is the peak of it all. I know this is a wake-up call and I am responding to it. No more excuses. Thank you, Kuya Jess. I can't even log on in to my email account. Can't post pics for Wordless Wednesday. Can't do tags. Can't do opps (actually, there are no opps to do!) Haaaay. I am doing this post because I terribly miss blogging, and I won't allow my busy-ness and laziness to take over me once again. I need to update this blog over the weekend, I just hope I find the time to do so. Free, chill time is so scarce these days. posted by Dorxie at 2:44 AM

Some of my friends have been asking me what's up with my blog drama lately with no updates and nothing about what's really happening in my life. You know, just tags, paid assignments and all the crap. Honestly, I have not been updating my Multiply/Twitter/Friendster either. So, really, what's all the hold up about? Well, you see, I have been quite busy (totally uber busy, actually) since the month of March entered the picture. And I am afraid that this might be the case for the next few weeks (or months!) to come. ![]() Here's what's been keeping me from blogging: 1) My July trip has been demanding a lot from me lately. Too many stuff to accomplish. Too many papers to prepare. Too much money to raise. Don't get me wrong, though; I am definitely not complaining. 2) I applied for a reality TV show. Haha! Yeah, believe me. I feel the need to unleash the star potential in me so I did it (do I hear laughter now?!) Preparing the application footage and the documents that needed to go with it got me crazy, but it was fun doing it naman so I sort of had a stress-reliever at the same time. No news yet about the application. I will post something about it as soon as things are okay na. 3) I am currently entering the homestretch of my thesis. Too bad I won't be marching this March, but I am definitely finishing the work this summer. PCASTRD is going to kill me if I don't! 4) I am setting up a new blog. It occurred to me that using one blog for monetary purposes isn't enough, hence, I needed to set up a new one! It still needs improvement so I am still working on it. I tell yah, setting up a new blog is no joke! It drives me to the edge! Oh, and I do have a registered domain but I can't pay for the web hosting yet so my domain is just wasting internet space for 3 or 4 months now. I am using another Blogspot for the new one. Gawd! I am poor as a rat! 5) I've been trying to figure out how to get rid of Clicksor inline text ads and pop-ups! The whole thing just annoys me! I've sought the help of super powerful anti-malwares out there but to no avail. This morning, I found one solution (thank God!) which should work for now: the use of Adblock and other filters for my Firefox browser. Well, so far so good. 6) I've been doing chem tutorials for extra moolah. Told yah I am poor as a rat. 7) I've been busy editing pics that never got to go online! It's so frustrating because there's a lot of them! Must update my Multiply soon. Those are just a few of the things I got myself in these days. I hope to get things done as soon as possible because this busy-ness is killing me to the bones! I don't get to read e-mail at all! Argh! I'm a dead kid and me NOT likey! I know, I know. My posts these days have all been paid opps. Meyyyyn, I couldn't help it. I need to beat the deadline and my brain is not functioning to come up with posts that are really "interesting." Also, I don't like to post anything true-to-life right now because the paid opps will just overshadow it. So yeah. Forgive me for the raining opps here. No choice eh. The lady's gotta work! Woohoo!!! I'm sooooooo happy to be back home! Just got home this morning from my ultra amazing but equally tiring Cebu trip. Gawd, I missed Manila! I missed my bed! I missed the jeeps! I missed the internet!!! I planned to sleep the whole day, but then I realized that I have to wash the clothes I brought with me to Cebu because I have almost none left for tomorrow! I finished washing them all just before doing this post, and believe it or not, my hands are numb and shaky while I'm typing this! Talk about first time washing clothes! In as much as I want to post my stories and pics in Cebu, I really couldn't do it now because my hands aren't cooperating and my mind is going blank. I promise to post entries about my trip as soon as my mind gets back in shape. Argh! I am delaying posts for the Nth time and I hate it! Anyway, hafta go now. My body is longing for my bed. Tata! It's 20 minutes past 3:00 AM. Yes, I have to go to school later, if that's what you want to ask. But honestly, I've never been a morning person, so school time is more or less a little past lunchtime for me. Therefore, sleeping is not an option right now. My mind is so much wide awake that I'd be needing tons of Prozac to send me to dreamland. Well, I'm up because this one site recently launched a new paid opp worth $25.00. Twenty-five freaking dollars... that's like a thousand pesos. A thousand pesos for 100 words. Deym. I've been refreshing the page for several times now and all available slots for this certain opp has been reserved. Why are they all so fast when it comes to reserving opps?! What's my DSL for?! What's my updated PC for?! Argh. Oh. I refreshed the page just now and the opp is gone. Boo. You have to agree with me when I say that once you earn money from blogging, you just can't help but long for more. What makes it even more attractive is that you get payment in dollars. I mean, come on... who wouldn't want that?! Not that I am some money-loving blogger, but I'm sure you do get where I am coming from. Just think: $1 = 40 pesos (in fact, is kills me that from $1 to 50 pesos it dropped to just 40 pesos.) Oh, by the way, can you just imagine how Google hates us paid bloggers? Yeah, they did drop our ranks to zero, but that won't necessarily make us stop! Haha! I'm sure they've been trying to figure out a better (and maybe a more permanent) way to eliminate us off the web. Again, boo to you, Google! Hah. I've never refreshed a page this much in my life, but it seems that nothing is happening to the page displayed on the other tab. Haaaay. I am nearing my give-up threshold. It's probably time to finish this blabbering. Sorry to waste your time reading crap. This whole thing, everything written here, just kept on popping out of nowhere. No coherence, no flow. It was just popping! Must be from the wild, little corners of my sometimes-insane mind. Bah, I am making no sense here. Peace out. Labels: me me me posted by Dorxie at 3:20 AM

For some people I know, blogging has been a major source of cash. I believe it has been, for some, a career while staying at home. I have read about people who have used the money they earned from blogging in a variety of ways. One has bought Louis Vuitton bags using her blogging money. One has bought so many shoes via an online store in the US. Another one bought Coach wallets for her and her husband (you hear me, Ate Peachy? Haha!) And even my cousin in the US has started paid blogging to earn money to buy kikay stuff! As for me, I have not touched the money I earned since I started blogging. I reckon it's time to use it, to finally reap the fruits of my labor. So next week, blogging will take me back to one of the best places I have been to in the Philippines. I can't wait to go back to... Sinulog, here we come! Take me, Cebu, take me! Now it's time to ask you, where has blogging taken you? Feel free to answer =) Labels: me me me posted by Dorxie at 1:55 PM
